"Waterproof" gets used loosely across this category, so it's a fair question to ask before you buy. Here's exactly what our holder is rated for.
What does "waterproof" mean for this product?
The Pawfetchers AirTag holder is a sealed silicone holder rated to withstand 1 metre of water submersion for up to 30 minutes. That's a specific rating, not an open-ended promise. It's the same depth and time that Apple uses for the AirTag's own IP67 rating, though the holder doesn't carry its own IP certification.
What conditions is it built to handle?
Rain, splashing waves, a dog swimming or shaking off water, mud and sand. Swimming through waves or paddling sits within the 1m/30min rating.
What could still damage it?
Submersion deeper than 1 metre or longer than 30 minutes goes beyond the rating. Physical damage — a hard chew, a cut or a puncture — can compromise the seal regardless of the rating. Long periods of high heat (left in a hot car, for instance) can affect any silicone product over time. And the seal only works if it's closed, so check it before every swim.
How should you care for it after a swim?
